CONTENT DRIVEN CINEMA VS STAR DRIVEN CINEMA?

So the star topic of today arrives! Which film do you think is better? Cinema that actually has a good content and message to give to the society or a movie that just works it’s numbers at the box office because of the ultimate craze the people have for a big superstar?

Ultimately, do we watch the star on screen or the story that we would want to carry with us back home? Why do big stars get such bug openings for their films? If the film belongs to a big star, the first day itself the films collection would be in crores and people waiting outside the theaters would be an inexplicable number. Star movies immediately have distributors running after producers for buying the film. Whereas in small movies, the first days openings aren’t that great, people start watching the movie only after the talk becomes a little popular after the first week. Bigger movies have bigger collections and high budgets. Whereas nothing like this happens in small movies. That’s why my dad always said, “content is what drives a film”. If the content is good, any movie will be recognized, if not sooner than at least later.

I don’t know when this trend of movies will change. If there’s anything I’d like to change about how the film industry works, then it would be the discrimination towards the smaller makers and actors. But slowly, we’re progressing towards it and trying to make it a success.
