INDIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM

The Indian education system has many loopholes in it. It does more harm than good to the students. I know many people might disagree, but this is just to put forth what I think is good and bad about our education system.

PROS-:

1.)DISCIPLINE-: The schools and colleges in India are very particular about the timings, homework, exams, attendance and almost every tiny aspect of a students life. Students are required to follow certain rules which is a good way of inculcating discipline. This will help them in the long run.

2.)EXPANSION OF KNOWLEDGE-: The Indian education system has a vast curriculum and imparts knowledge to students on various subjects. They include science, mathematics, English, Hindi, computers, GK, right from the primary classes. This helps students gain knowledge on vast and wide topics from an early age.

3.)CONCENTRATION-:The students are required to learn their lessons thoroughly in order to fetch marks for themselves. They look for different ways to concentrate and grasp better.

Now coming to the larger part of the blog, the cons.

CONS-:

1.)NO PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE-: We cannot deny the fact that the Indian educational system lacks practical knowledge. Students are expected to understand even the trickier concepts verbally. There is no actual understanding of the subject. Textual writing and bookish language is necessary to obtain marks.

2.)MARKS ARE ALL THEY NEED-: It is all about getting marks. The teachers don’t bother to check if the students have actually understood the concept or not. Marks will be forgotten someday or the other but knowledge stays forever, this is something that the Indian education system has failed at.

3.)NO ALL ROUND DEVELOPMENT-: The schools do not contribute in all round development of the students. No effort is made to build personal character or physical health.

4.)STUDY PRESSURE-: The students are overburdened with studies. They study for long hours at school and are given piles of homework and project works to do at home and are also expected to do well in tests. This puts a lot of pressure on the young minds.

The Indian education system has been criticized time and again. There is a tremendous need to change in order to ensure proper development in all spheres of life.
