Do we have too many engineers right now? And just limited number of jobs available for them? I think this topic is absolutely suitable for India’s current problem. Gone are those days when engineering was the most appreciated and employment attractive.
Today, we have millions of engineers who have an impeccable degree but no employment. However, the major fact is, considering the quality of engineering colleges that are growing across the country, not all of them are really employable. I have seen that in India, anybody can get admission into an engineering college even if he has not been able to clear one or two subjects in 12th grade. That’s what the quality has come down to today. Also, all streams of engineering do not attract the same amount of opportunities. For example, electrical, energy and civil would probably still manage to attract opportunities but the rest have been reduced to shackles of unemployment and poverty.
So, this was it for today. For all those aspiring engineers out there, all the best! Choose your path wisely and make the most out of it. Good luck 👍
